Vijay received the commemorative postage stamp on Pongal Day from the Prime Minister of India. The stamp in denomination of Rupees Five is brought out by the Department of Posts. Shri Dayanidhi Maran, Minister for Communications and Information Technology , Dr Shakeel Ahmad, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and several other Cabinet Ministers were present during the function. |

Vijay Unveiled the fan club flag-his image in a blue circle on a white background, and the phrases 'uzhaithidu' (work hard), 'uyarndhidu' (succeed) and 'unnaal mudiyum' (you can do it) emblazoned on it. He urged his fans to stand united and contribute their best for the betterment for the society.
Vijay's father director S.A. Chandrasekar said the flag was launched to encourage the fan clubs to keep up their good deeds. "You cannot build a fan following with money; what you need is a good heart that knows to give. And Vijay's fans do not have to be told to do good deeds. The flag will show the right path these youngsters must tread."
It was the time of their lives for most Vijay fans who had gathered at the University Centenary Auditorium in Chennai. Fans from various parts of Tamil Nadu along with their Chennai counterparts had come over for the occasion. They shouted slogans cheering Vijay who made a dashing entry to the podium.

Vijay was once a brand ambassador for Coco-Cola brand during the year 2000-03. The commercial ad for the latest theme of Coco-Cola is 'Open Happiness' which is rocking the small screen viewers specially designed to quench the summer thirst where the music was composed by singer Karthik & the lyric for the song was penned by Pa.Vijay.

| Vijay to endorse Chennai Super Kings |

Vijay today marked a new chapter in his career by endorsing the star studded and high profile 'Chennai Super Kings' IPL team that has many bigwig players like the Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Australian smash hitter 'Matthew Hayden', Sri Lankan spinner Muttaiah Muralitharan, Stephen Fleming, Micheal Hussey, Jacob Oram, Suresh Raina, Makhaya Ntini, among other players. The Chennai team will be coached by South African player Kepler Wessels and also has former Indian spinner VB Chandrashekar as the team's advisor.
Vijay was given a royal introduction at the glittering launch today by the organisers of the event. He was seen sitting on a throne through which he was introduced to the audience assembled for the event. Vijay said that he is very happy to be associated with the Chennai IPL team and that he has been watching cricket right from his childhood days, and that his son is also a very avid cricket watcher. Vijay also said that he will be attending the IPL matches being played in Chennai
